| Teen author Sydney Scrogham has been writing and inventing stories since the day she learned how to use words. The Appalachian Mountains of Virginia's Shenandoah Valley, along with her horse, Blue, provided ideas her first novel, Chase. Her inspiration for the villain came from a school English assignment.
Sydney wrote Chase in eighteen days when she was thirteen and signed her first publishing contract on her eighteenth birthday. After graduating in 2011, Sydney began college, where she is studying psychology, and writing in her spare time.
