So hey, we totally dig that you’re
into spreading the word about Leap. It’s because
of dedicated YA bloggers and readers like you that we
started Leap. Our inbox has been bursting at the seams
with requests for ARCs. We’re totally floored that you
wuv’s us!
We wish we could give every single person an ARC, but
sadly we have a limited number of review copies. Our Leap
marketing team hasn’t figured out the formula for turning
paperclips into gold yet. (Darn marketing team, work faster,
sheesh!) But fret not, Leap fans, we’re holding a contest
to spread the book homage and give YA reviewers and Leap
fans a chance to WIN a few ARCs and/or some snazztastic
swag. Ah, so we have your attention now, eh? |
| |
|
| |
Pssssst! We have a super cool covert
mission for you. Yeah, you! Kinda like Chuck’s Angels,
but way cooler. It's easy to enter. Go to www.leapbks.com,or
our blog, snag
the Leap badge, and post it on your Blog, MySpace, Facebook,
etc. You can even print it out, if it floats your boat.
Check our blog every other week for another badge. Go
ahead, hoard them all. We dare you.
Email us at contests@leapbks.com
with the address of the blog, MySpace, or Facebook page
where you loaded our special nifty badges. |

FOR BOOK REVIEWERS
Post one new Leap badge every other week until review
copies arrive (pssst, probably November, but the date’s
a secret). If you’re a book reviewer (preferably with
a following of 150+ and who posts at least once a week),
you’ll be eligible for the drawing for ARCs. We’ll select
a few names every other week. One of them might be yours.
Be sure to write “BOOK REVIEWER” at the top of your
email to be entered in both contests.
Remember, this is a top-secret operation. If we pull
your name, you agree to read the book and post a review
in at least three places—your blog and two other places
(Amazon, B & N, Shelfari, Good Reads)—but feel free
to post it in as many places as you like. No spoilers,
please. And keep your copy of the book under lock and
key, no sharing with anyone. This sneak peek at an upcoming
Leap release is for your eyes only. |
 |
FOR OTHER LEAP FANS
If you’re not a book reviewer, don’t despair. You, too,
can grab Leap badges for a chance to win. Email us at
contest@leapbks.com, so we can see the fabu spots where
you posted Leap badges. Each post equals one contest
entry. Then on 1-1-2010 tune in to our launch party.**
And maybe, just maybe, you might get some über cool
swag. (Swag: a slang term for free promotional items
from publishers, rock bands and other mega crazy people
who just love to give stuff away!) Who doesn’t love
swag?
|
 |
So, anyway, we hope you’re like our best friend Tabatha
Lipenstock. She can’t keep a secret. We call her Gabby
Tabby. She spills the beans everywhere. In this case,
it might be a good thing. But only about the contest.
Remember, the book contents are top secret until launch
day.
Oh yeah, the legal team is sweating buckets, so before
Mr. Legal Pencil-pusher has a coronary, you should check
out the contest RULES. Rules…not
our favorite thing. Sorta spoils the super-spiffy secret
agent image, but it'll be worth it. We promise. |

 |
**(Book reviewers: We luvs ya, so all your
entries will go into the 1-1-2010 drawing, too. That’s
right. You’ll not only get a chance to read one of Leap’s
amazing books, but you can also snag some of our swag.)
Oh, and if you’d like to have a Q& A session with
one of our Leap Books authors to post on your blog—who
doesn’t like to play reporter?—go ahead and send us
an email at marketing@leapbks.com
with Interview/Author Name in the heading.
Interviews will make our authors’ day, but also give
you a glimpse—maybe a somewhat twisted glimpse—into
the minds of a teen or tween author.
|

|
Are you brave enough? I mean, these folks have characters
talking to them… but, hey, everyone needs adventure, right?
Live dangerously! Interview a Leap author. BTW, Mr. Legal
Pencil-pusher wanted me to tell you: Interviewing a Leap
Books author won’t increase your chance of winning. |

|
But we’d still love to have you interview our authors. So,
kudos to everyone who's written to us offering to promote
Leap Books and to read/review our upcoming books; getting
your emails has been exciting. We can’t wait to have
you Leap with us.
